As a dance teacher at Alexandria Middle School, one of my favorite yearly events was the Annual Dance Concert. It was so special for a variety of reasons but the moment where I always felt the most proud was at the end of the show.

Seeing 75 sixth, middle school dancers take their final bow just three months after stepping foot in their first dance class was inspiring, rewarding, and reaffirming. The collaborating, growing, refining, and learning we had experienced together had forever changed the thinking of all in the room. Dance brought us together (including the audience) to think more openly - growing the appreciation for the art of dance education.
